The name BOJATI is made up of the names of the children Bijuma, Omar, JAmila and TIno. They were the first four BOJATI children (siblings) and live in Mombasa (Kenia).

Bijuma (13) was in the 8th class at the time. After that, she attended secondary school for 4 years. She completed it well in 2015. She now wants to become a teacher and will attend a college for the next 3 years. The KIGUMO Teaching Training College in Nyeri (Kenya). She is now 21 and in her final year of college.

Omari (Omar) (11) was in the 7th grade. He was happy, he was able to go back to elementary school. Omar started secondary school in 2014 and graduated in 2018. He is now 19 and wants to go to college and become a mechanic in Mombasa.

Jamila (7) had just started the 1st class when we started supporting the children at the end of 2010. She is currently completing 8 years of primary school and will attend secondary school in Mombasa in 2019.

Mohamed (Tino) (3) was still too small for school at the time. He went to a kind of pre-kindergarten (baby class). He entered the 1st class in 2015 and is now in the 4th class of the primary school in Mombasa.

James (8) lives in western Kenya and had a hard life after losing his mother. Thanks to our support, he was able to continue attending upper primary school. He’s in 7th class now.

Zipporah (Zippy) (11) lived in an orphanage in Nairobi since her mother died. She’s the oldest of three girls living with your grandmother. Thanks to our support, she was able to go to a better secondary school from 2014. She’s happy to have been given a chance for a new, different life. Zippy now lives back in Nairobi going to a college nearby to study medicine.

Paulo is a 12-year-old boy who lives with his irresponsible handicapped father. His mother comes and goes and is nowhere to be found. He was kicked out of school for a year for missing school fees. We bought him a new school, uniform, books and a school bag, and he benefits from the school lunch program. Paulo is happy to be back in school.

Lenox (17) finished primary and secondary school in 2013. He’s Antony’s nephew and lived with him. He wanted to study architecture if he got the chance. He has been studying at Laikipia University in Nyahururu, Kenya since 2014 and has a degree in Library and Information.

Levi (20) is the oldest in this project. He graduated from college in 2014 and took courses at the University of Computer and Information Technology. Besides, he worked in a small Playstation store. After completing his supplementary studies, he works part-time and is able to support himself. He was released from the BOJATI project at the end of 2016.

Leon (10) comes from a rural area. He lives with his single mother, who needs less than a dollar a day. The mother has other children (siblings) to take care of and she is forced to beg for food. Leon has been out of school for a long time and is forced to start over. We came to his aid and brought him back to school with a new school uniform, books, bags and fees.
